Re: Tim, yesterday I had------

producers selling July hogs @ 94.25 but after the close I suddenly realized there is a quarterly hog report on Thursday afternoon. Those quarterly reports can be big market movers and I don't have a solid bias or confidence in direction. I called everyone back and told them I thought it would be better/safer to go to the sidelines until we see those numbers. They all agreed with stepping aside with offset orders @ 92.75 testing the 9 day moving average. I was cutting it pretty close 92.62 was todays low.

I didn't want anything taking my focus off my herd of cattle but I didn't tell them that. I have a lot of a work and potential profits tied up in my cattle along with a lot of other cowboys with their own herds. Maybe I'm a bit selfish with those thoughts but now is Crunch Time in the cattle market and I already have too many things trying to take some of my cattle market focus, with lack of focus a big part in past costly mistakes. The corn market is also causing some focus robbing efforts and Thursday I will be away from the markets with complete disconnection attending my brother-in-laws funeral. Sometimes it's impossible to stay InThe Zone.

I only have 3 days until June expiration and the Full Moon rally is getting ready to begin and the frosting won't go on the cake until next week. I spent the first hour of trade today rolling my long June and all the other cowboys herds to the August contract. That was not an easy task being limited on time and not sure how correct or pretty those rolls would look like until the close. I'm happy with the results, got all the August on @ 170.90 to 171.25 except for one 5 lot @ 171.60. Now I just want to see it stay above 171.00 but I sure feel better not having to worry about expiring June. August cattle have a hurdle to jump @ 174.40 but if they manage to clear it, the door is open for 176-177. If I really get lucky and packers open their wallets more, then I could be looking @ the 178-180 area. That's a big jump and only 6-7 days to do it. It's done it before so it can do it again. The cattle market has an addiction for Double Tops. After the first week of July there's another loss of energy and I will be looking to be a seller of August cattle probably before the end of the first week.
