I'm sure everyone had a Merry Christmas---

Christmas always seems to be uplifting and merry. I'm wishing everyone a Happy New Year, "HAPPY" is pretty much a "Done Deal" for the party goers ushering in the New Year but the negative begins quickly with the morning after Hangover. That's why I stopped celebrating the New Year many decades ago. I'm expecting 2023 to start out friendly for the Bull Camp but I have a bad feeling about the last half of the year. I would not be surprised to see everyone affected negatively by the end of the year.

I'm expecting the hog market to begin the year on a negative note, at least for front month Feb that is always a bit psychotic anyway. The fundamentals are negative, demand is in worse shape and the Lean Index keeps dropping lower. I had producers sell Feb again yesterday @ 91.50. I don't expect another $10 profit on our hedges but should see at least a backfill down to 84.50-86.00 area
