Re: DH, I wasn't buying-----
In Response To: I have a question? ()

any of the 2019 contracts. Not that I'm against the idea but I just don't like to trade that far out. Actually I did very little for myself last week because I'm swamped with the cattle and corn markets along with my hog hedgers. I did add another 10% of production to the Oct hedges @ 62.00.

Then I had this crazy Hallucination late in the day Friday, to take profits on all hedges below 53.00. Nobody wanted to wait to see what happens Monday morning----so I took a bunch to the Bank @ 50.75. Whether right or wrong, for some reason I smell bounce. That's probably just my inner desire to try to out guess the market. If the choice is wrong, I tend to think we will have another chance to put them back on @ the 51-52 area by the time Aug expires.

What I'm wanting to see happen-----is a retest of the 54.00-55.00 resistance as we go into the final 7 days of the Aug contract. The odds aren't very good for getting what I want. I have the 45.00-47.00 area for a possible bottom but under the circumstances with so much negative working against the hog market, added to the overproduction that is worldwide------a retag of the 2016 low at 40.70 would not surprise me at all. A break below 40.00 wouldn't come as a surprise either. We are faced with an Over Production Blood Bath situation that calls for extreme measures to stop the overproduction. Low price Overkill is the only way to do that.
