preparing to slow down a bit. The 6-day moving average carcass weight was down a bit yesterday in spite of a low kill on both Friday and Monday. With cutouts showing a little strength, packers may be willing to compete with each other on who kills the hogs. With the MMMs trading premium to the component by +9.51, though, that "Gap" may tend to dampen the rate of any recovery the MMMs attempt to mount.
I'm on a one-man beef eating boycott until I get rid of this short June cattle/hog spread and that may not happen very soon.
