jumped +0.64 to 51.61. The model surely did not see that one coming! The ZZZs are now trading discount to the component by -0.56. I guess with firm cutouts, packers are wanting to bring in the hogs and get the work done. And they are getting it done with some very large kill numbers.

The 6-day moving average carcass weight moved up to 211.84#. That is -1.33# rf/yr. It was the packer hogs that were heavier by almost a hslf-pound. Non-packer hogs were lighter. Index hogs coni\tinue to be lighter at 210.17# which was mildly heavier. Packer hogs are now heavier than non-packer hogs by +2.59#.

Have done a bit of scalping this morning but mostly I'm just holding onto short ZZZs and GGGs wiating to see if the market makes a significant break.
