Re: As you well know DH----

spreads have as much excitement as watching paint dry. I've often found all of the excitement for the cattle/hog spread comes with getting the spread on since I prefer to leg in. I have had a few years where I missed my opp. and had to chase. This could turn into one of those years since I passed on the 47 spread, thinking I could get the legs on with a 48 spread. The market failed to cooperate with my idea. I expect the cattle leg to be the money leg this year, so I'm in a position of being forced to sell June cattle again @ the 127.20 area and maybe losing another 1.25 if the market wants to punish me.

My hog trade on auto pilot, surprised me with cooperation. I didn't expect to even get the fill. Our trip to the airport caused a weeks worth of anxiety in a 3 hour timespan. We flew out of Kansas City and had a flat 30 miles north of St Joe. I had bought a different car in early Feb and had assumed the usual tools for tire changing were with it, as has always been my experience. Don't ever assume, I had no lug wrench. No problem I thought as I called the trusty AAA service that has always done a very good job for any of my past needs. Between very bad AAA phone operators, and lack of nearby AAA services, 2 hours of waiting, the lug wrench finally arrived. We had less than an hour to get to the airport, park the car, go through security and board the plane that was already in the boarding process when we pulled into the airport. It looked like our missed plane, goose was cooked and risking a 90 mph speeding ticket was for not. It's a good thing the KC airport has a very efficient security process.

All's well that ends well, so you would think. Wait a minute, the trip just started. We had trouble getting to the airport, didn't even think about the bad luck possibilities after the return flight coming home and getting out of the KC airport. In my haste to catch the plane, I forgot to turn my lights off when I parked the car. Dead battery------oh no, I've got to deal with AAA again! I did take the time to see if the airport had a battery boosting service-----which they did. Hey, it's good to be home-----now I have to get back IN THE ZONE.

Food for thought, I realized two things from the anxiety causing problems we were confronted with. #1 the markets have trained me well when anxiety wants to jerk you out of your comfort zone-----a ramped up anxiety attack serves no purpose, calm cool and collected will produce a better outcome than letting anxiety out of its cage. #2 just revisited something I've known for some time, this time it couldn't be avoided but I had no other choice but roll with the punches-------when mama isn't happy, nobody is happy! For a brief moment I did feel sorry for those AAA phone operators until the 2nd hour of waiting set in.
