Too many other responsibilities----

have sidelined my hog trading activity the last 2 weeks. I've been on the road a good share of the time, meeting with my producers and a few of their bankers. I really had to defend my approach and experience with a couple of them since I do look rather foolish for advising taking some profits @ the 61.00 area. The few that did take some profits know how THE DRILL works in this type of situation, when it broke below 60.00 we had no other choice but to slap the shorts back on. We started taking profits again on Monday @ the 54.00-54.50 area and had some stops take us out of more yesterday @ 55.20. I still have half of producer hedges working and they have set their minds to hold them into expiration.

My producers that know THE DRILL did get hedges on Feb hogs @ 62.35-72.70 via the fishing line play. They have stops set to put it in the bank with a triggered buy signal @ 59.45. It does take a daily close above that to say the trigger has been pulled and a weekly close above 59.45 to give me confirmation that the buy signal is real and not a fake and then Feb hogs may trade between 58.00-62.00 for a long time before it decides the next move. All just my opinion but I don't rec something that doesn't have an 80/20 reliability factor and I do have a plan for the 20% of failures that do happen 20% of the time.

Most of my focus has been towards the corn market with seasonal lows that should be put in place in the next 10 days. I have hedges to lift and re-owning positions to build and it's never easy to have just right amount of patience and aggression balanced to get it done without damage. Plus the cattle and feeders swinging wildly and producing some astounding profits with the correct choices. I just don't have any zone left to trade the hogs. It's funny how some over used sayings always come back to be proven correct. I started hearing this voice back in early Oct but just a whisper "The Bears get Thanksgiving and the Bulls get Christmas and New Year", at the time I wrote it off as one of my hallucinations but one of my cycles reminded me in late Oct that the Thanksgiving feast for grains and cattle was about to begin. At the time I didn't even make the connection that hogs could/should get a second leg. Now I'm making preparations for the Christmas and New Years party that the Bulls put on. Is it possible for that party to try and ONE UP the Bear Thanksgiving Feast. It would be nice but it's very hard to have much confidence in more than half the show the Bears gave. The hard part is THE 2-3 week lag time between parties, one ending and the other beginning, better known as sideways or BUILDING the LAUNCHING PAD. Sometimes we see V-Bottoms that LAUNCH with no warning, this is a strong addiction for the cattle market, Flat Tops and V-Bottoms.
