Russia buys pork and poultry from the US. Russia currently has banned EU pork because of African Swine Fever in 1-2 EU countries. Russia banning poultry would put pressure on the chicken market possibly pressuring our pork market, but beef is very expensive (I wonder if that is part of the reason cattle are selling off along with month end huge profit taking). Russia banning our pork would be make somewhat of a burden on our market. What I do not understand is why April and June 2015 and getting hit harder than December 2014.

The market is definitely spooked and the chart readers are piling on the sell off.

As a hedger this volatility makes my stomach spin.
