The CME component on the kill for - - -

5/20/15 was up +0.22 to 83.26. The MMMs are now premium to the component by 0.11. I was expecting technical/emotional factors to move hogs around a bit and it is surely happening.

The six-day moving average carcass weight firmed mildly to 213.37# with both packer and non-packer hogs being heavier. That is down from the same day last year by -3.03#. It appears that packers are now preferring heavier hogs and within this framework, producers are quite current in their shipments.

I just sold an MMM pig at 83.30. I'm not sure who will be scalped - me or the other guy.

Best wishes,

dhm
