The CME component on the kill for - - -

2-27-15 was up +1.30 to 66.15. That puts the JJJ's "Gap" at 2.21 and the MMM's "Gap" at 17.27. I'm still friendly the long J/M spread but it's surely not doing anything today.

The 6-day moving average carcass weight moved up to 215.15#. That's +1.44# year over year. It is not good growing weather that caused the weight to climb nor is it fresh corn. My read is that it is just plenty of hogs. Both packer and non-packer hogs were heavier.

There were a lot of packer-hogs killed Friday and Saturday. I think they were just playing a little catch-up for their low kill earlier in the week.

Now the MMMs are backing off a little. I had orders working to sell on a little pop higher but it marched right up to my order and turned without giving me a fill. Oh! Well! I didn't "HAVE" to sell more anyway.

Best wishes,

dhm
