The CME Component on the - - -

7/11/14 kill was not a strong as projected being up only 0.14 to 132.85. The jump in he HEN4 today has opened their premium to the index component to 0.30 with two more days of data to come in.

The 6-day moving average carcass weight was a bit lighter at 213.39# and it was the packer hogs that were lighter weight. The year-over-year weight differential has eased to 9.16#. There was a big decrease in the number of packer hogs killed. So much so that the percentage of packers hogs killed dropped to 26.16%. Usually the percentage is about 33%. I'm wondering if this indicates that packers suffered greater PED virus losses than non-packers.

I'm planning on going to cash settlement with most of the long NNNs I now have. I bought a couple more NNNs this morning as well as a Q/V spread at 14.30.

Best wishes,
