The final Purchase Index for - - -

today will be late "Due to Packer Submission Problems!"

Here are some points:

- The kill this week is running +8.45% over the same period last year.

- The number of hogs scheduled yesterday was +11.55% of the same day last year.

- Carcass weights are still +2.89# yr/yr. That adds more pork.

- Primal cuts have fallen 6.71 this week.

- The dollar is quite strong and that hampers our trading partners' ability to buy our pork

- There IS a HOG CYCLE that shows increased production following periods of profitability and decreased production following periods of losses. Producers had good profits last year and this provides incentive to expand.

My friends, this is not a bull!

This spring-time-bull has just capitulated and decided to trade the Hog Cycle. That means getting short which I did this morning by selling a GGG and will sell more if there is a price surge.

Best wishes,

dhm

P.S.: I'm generally a good fade when I develop a directional bias!
