During my early years of trading, I picked up on that Golden Nugget from a comment from a fellow trader and I don't even remember who it was, which is why I didn't take it as seriously as I should have. After several years of 50/50 success ratio with the size of the losers larger than the winners, it was time to do some serious research to find some answers or find a different passion.

Late 2000 I decided to take a year off of trading to do that research. My wife had just gotten her nursing degree and we had added debt then she got pregnant with our youngest early in 2001, so lack of funds made it easier to take a hard dive into research. The validity of the 3 bar rule was the first item on my research list and until this day is one of the few highly consistent technical aspects that have retained constant reliability for buy signals and sell signals. There is always gray matter to deal with and nothing in this game is written in stone but for that 90% reliability factor, its a good place to start.
