I suspect the morning reports will be late. It -

is too much to expect bureaucrats to come back from a holiday and be ready to "Put their shoulder to the wheel" and get on with the work at hand.

From the afternoon reports the model was not able to make a very strong projection relative to the Purchase Index because of the small number of hogs purchased. With primal cuts taking a beating, I'm not planning on there being a lot of strength to the GGGs early this morning. I just might get my 79.80 buy order filled.

I just wonder how high the Feb cattle/hog spread is going to soar. I might get brave and scale onto another one at 85.80. GGG Cattle could hit their previous high of 172.75 and I'm still thinking I may be able to buy the GGG hogs at 79.80 and that puts the Feb cattle/hog spread at 92.95. That up a peck from 85.80!! I don't like the prospects of that.

Best wishes,
