Re: Dewey, this is turning into a fun day
In Response To: Hogs by Dennis Smith ()

I can never plan for these types of days but when they show up I take a shoot first ask questions later attitude. Deposits made on my Feb shorts @ 79.90 & 79.20. I didn't expect the 79.20 to be hit so quickly nor did I expect limit down but knew the cattle market could cause some hog market panic. My instincts kicked in just before the bounce set in and I bot a pair of Feb @ 78.80 and entered the hog leg for my June cattle/June hog spreads @ 87.95. Now I have to patiently wait for the cattle market to hit bottom and produce a $10 bounce for the cattle leg. May or may not happen for June cattle, a $5 bounce may be all June cattle can produce. I still have decide whether I risk more than $2 against my long June hogs in the process of waiting. At this point a 60-62 spread may be the best I can get.

I took a 1.80 profit on each of my long Feb on the bounce, now asking the question if I want to reload and where. So far, today has been very productive but I can feel my head swelling a bit so I'm at risk of getting the wind knocked out of me with this shoot first ask question later approach.
