ASF in north America would be an industry killer. The US hasn't done a very good job of containing PED or PRRS. Canada has done better, but still nothing to brag about.
These big barns have too many entry points. Feed, people, breeding stock, barn density, and just loosey goosey attitudes toward bio-security. We get complacent, and then BOOM!
These travel bans may have deferred the bug, but I expect there will be breaks at some point.
