practice, get familiar with trading it, in preparation for the big MONEY MAKER in the 2nd quarter of 2015. The June/June cattle/hog spread, when done correctly and with patience can produce significant rewards. It has the best track record of any spreads I've looked at. That's why every year its at the top of my priority list to get 1 on. The only problem with it is the entry point, I've always had to leg into it. Usually by getting short June cattle when they have clearly defined the brick wall of resistance for the guess they have reached the summit. Then I patiently wait for a June hogs to retest its main support area, which doesn't always happen. I usually have a spread entry point in mind but seldom does the June/June spread trade that entry point to give a fill on a spread order. I have missed many of my best opportunities waiting for a spread fill(could be due to lack of patience) I prefer legging into spreads, I seem to get best results when legging, so why ruin what works. I don't consider myself a spread expert in any way, the truth is DH, you are the one responsible for sparking what interest and knowledge I have with spreads.

At this time I believe the cattle/hog spreads which have become so disconnected, will become one of the most rewarding trades for 2015. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out something is unbalanced with the cattle market at all time highs of a 4 year bull market and the hog market in the bottom 30% of its 4 year range. All markets are addicted to BALANCE and the cattle/hog spread is extremely UNBALANCED. Only a matter of time before the BALANCE ADDICTION kicks in.
