The 6-day moving average carcass weight moved up to 216.16#. That is +2.02# yr/yr. Index hogs were steady at 214.50#. Packer hogs are heavier than non-packer hogs by +1.02#. Packer hogs made up 39.0% of kill mix.

Frankly, I was a bit surprised to see hogs down across the board; After all, producers have not yet decided how many sows to breed to produce the hogs to be marketed in Dec 20.
