Re: market
In Response To: market ()

Cash is called steady. Weather in the western fringes of the hog belt is impacting movement with a few plants starting their shifts about 2 hours late today. The daily kill is reflecting this at only 488,000. Yesterday appeared to be a record high kill estimated at 495,000. Amazing what can happen when the margins are highly profitable. Of course there’s fear and talk of a huge kill for next week. Guess what, this happens every year in the wake of Thanksgiving.

Nothing really happening in the product arena. Hams are weak as demand has peaked for a minute and pushback is noted due to record high prices. Bellies and most retail items look steady.

We managed to get some of the Feb/Apr bull spreads established today at 670 under.

Duroc, I just received the above from my broker. I have not traded for a few days but am holding all my long positions thinking market will go up after Thanksgiving. The only problem with this is I am often Wrong!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL,
Dewey
