Thanks for info DH, I did not buy or sell anything today, following is some of what I just rec. -

One source indicated that the S. Korea weekly pork purchase was their largest buy going back to Aug of 2018. Monthly export data will be released on Friday. The discussion continues to bubble to the surface that Smithfield split carcasses, carcasses being shipped to China are not being reported. It certainly appears they are not being reported on the weekly report. Perhaps the monthly data will shed some light.

A couple of sources are indicating that bellies are ready to make a run back higher. If accurate, this would be really impressive in the face of weekly kills approaching 2.7 million pigs and record large. Bellies are mostly a domestic market. This is where the discussion of carcasses moving overseas and not being reported comes into play. This lowers the production of all cuts of pork. Smithfield appears to be pulling a fast one, in my opinion. Eventually we’ll learn the truth.
