The afternoon Purchase Index was UP +0.08 so we may be getting close to posting the seasonality low for the CME Lean Hog Index. The model projects it will drop between -0.35 and -0.65 on Monday's kill because packers still have an inventory of cheaper hogs purchased. As soon as we work through them there may be a bounce which may be the seasonality low or it may be a short-term bounce followed by a seasonality low about the time the ZZZs go to cash settlement.
