Re: The afternoon Purchase Index for - - -

Good morning DH, and thanks for your forum and the work you do to keep it up!

This was an interesting week for me as it seemed everything I thought would happen DID but not when I thought it would -so goes commodity trading!

I did not get out of my GGG's but piled several more back on yesterday. I did manage to successfully trade several June, april, and july and am holding MMM, JJJ, long for Monday. I don't have any idea what Monday will bring but I know it will bring Joy & Bruises to many. I hope my Joy wins out!!

Below is some of what I got from Dennis today -
. Hogs were limit up on Tuesday and finished the week limit down. Weekly export data was not nearly good enough to overwhelm the idea that hogs are being backed up. This is a very poor time of year to be backing up animals. Weights are on the rise as the weather cools. If weights start jumping because producers are behind in the marketings, while trying to process record large numbers, we have big problems.

Longer term the picture is much brighter with reports and confirmation that ASF has thus far destroyed more than 25% of the world’s hog population. Major losses are still being experienced in China and Vietnam. This will change the protein industry for pork, beef and poultry in the months to follow. Predicting exactly how and when these changes will develop has proven to be most difficult.
