7/29/19 was down +0.08 and the model project the component projects the component on today;s kill will move up between +0.40 and +0.70. It appears that packers still has enough hogs purchased that were more expensive to push the component higher. The uptrend may be nearing an end, though.

Packers purchased 103.7% of the daily moving average of purchases of total hogs and 81.07% on the index hogs.

I see no clear indication that the Chinese are buying American pork yet by there is a very good chance that they will eventually.
