Re: The cattle/hog spread is working
In Response To: Hey! ITZ! I think - - - ()

according to plan, the problem I'm now faced with is lack of a target exit plan. The Dec/Dec spread lacks a consistent track record for boundries for my RULES OF ENGAGEMENT. I don't have a guide for expectations in the narrowing process these spreads have NEVER been this disconnected. I do think the short cattle/long hogs will attract a lot of successful spread attention this year. We don't have the opportunity very often with one market(cattle) at the extreme extended high of the 3 year range and the hogs at the bottom 30% of the 3 year range. This spread is just a warm up, trial run as I prepare myself for the BIGGIE spread trade to set up in the first quarter of 2015, Short June cattle/Long June hogs. The most consistent, most lucrative cattle/hog spread that I have traded.

I did manage to scalp a $1 on the cattle side yesterday and with the move in hogs today, I'm feeling pretty good for the moment. I can feel my head starting to swell, so it's probably time to take a caution pill.
