6/7/19 WAS down -0.39 and the model projects the component on Friday's kill will dip between -0.30 and -0.60. Those numbers are the same as the afternoon Purchase Index.

With their steady afternoon bids, packers continued to round up the hogs with the moving average daily purchases moving up to the 120.5% level for total hogs and 119.1% on the Index hogs. That is about the usual level of purchases for a Friday.

Now to see what hogs are going to do today. The China ASF problem is not translating into increased demand for American pork at this point in time and anticipating it will happen is not being very profitable for me.
