5/29/19 WAS DOWN a mere -0.04 to 82.20. That may mean that there are some less expensive hogs waiting in line to keep their appointment at the packing plants and could surface with some weakness in a day or so.

The six-day moving average carcass weight firmed to 214.93#. That is +2.83# yr/yr. Packer hogs are +1.91# heavier than the non-packer hogs. Index hogs are lighter at 214.14#.

I expect the MMMs and NNNs will lollygag around until the packers begin buying hogs to fill retailers cases for the Independence Day holiday and that may be just before the MMMs go to cash settlement.
