eased to 215.33#. That is only +2.86# over the same date last year. Producers have really been running their heavies to market like there is going to be no tomorrow. The non-packer hogs dropped in weight quite a bit more than the packer hogs.

I believe this liquidation has added 300K to 400K to the kill since 9/1/14.

If that is the case, then the kill since 9-1-14 is trailing projections by something in the range of -400K to 450K. This may mean that the PED virus losses were a bit greater than reported by the last H&P report.

I'm thinking that we may now be in for a mild up trend in the CME Index. But I don't have any idea how long it will last.
