The CME Lean Hog Index component on the kill for -

4/12/19 was up +0.29 to 79.68. This is the other half of the cash settlement index for the JJJs. It looks like the JJJs will go out at 79.54. It worked out just fine going to cash settlement riding a few long JJJ pigs. The model tends to be a handy trading toolen we get close to cash settlement. The MMMs are now trading premium to the
component by 18.52. On average over the past 12-years from this date until the MMMMs go to cash settlement, the Index gained a bit more than ten points. Last year it gained 27.42.

The six-day moving average carcass weight moved up to 215.56#. That is +0.23# yr/yr. Index hogs were also a bit heavier at 213.57#. Packer hogs were heavier than the non-packer hogs by +4.28#. Packers shipped nealy 40% of the hogs over the past 5-days.

Best wishes,
