This situation is threatening to go regional which would really turn up the bullish burner. A new development surfaced today, PED was confirmed in Alberta, Canada, for the first time ever. This disease was confirmed in other Canadian provinces in 2014. So now we watch and monitor this situation. Recall that PED tends to kill young pigs and it spreads in cold weather much more so than in warmer temperatures. On the trade war front, a joint statement will be issued tonight out of Beijing which may possibly specify increased purchases of U.S. pork.
