declined to 213.73# putting the year/year change at +9.64#. The weight of packer hogs is falling faster than non-packer hogs. Earlier in the year packer hogs were 3.3# heavier than non-packer hogs. Now the non-packer hogs are 1.07# heavier than the packer hogs.

From this it appears that packers have pulled forward their hogs in order to meet their pork commitments. The general decline in carcass weights may be indicating that hogs are now finishing a bit slower because of the warmer weather.
