The USDA quarterly hog & pig comes out tomorrow. The range and average estimates are listed below. The report is expected to be negative in that expansion likely continued, pigs per litter likely reached another new high and record large production is assured through next year.

My sources indicated another case of ASF in the western part of the Inner Mongolia Region. This is was the furthest westerly case and 340 miles from any other reported case. In other words, the disease is spreading. It most likely will continue to spread unless the government is implementing harsh measures to control the spread, including aggressive culling of animals. If they are culling animals, it could be in the millions. As reported in the Morning Livestock Report, the Chinese Ag Minister was quoted as saying sufficient pork imports would be necessary due to ASF
