final Purchase Index for 9/7/18 will be late. The packers seem to be wanting hogs a bit more now and the down trend in hog prices appears to have ended so I am expecting the Purchase Index to be up a little. The VVVs settled premium to the component by +9.28. Obviously the market thinks packers are going to be chasing hogs big time over the next few weeks. If the index gains that much, the long summer futures I am HODLing should pay of handsomely.
