9/7/18 was UP +0.72 TO 46.37. The VVVs are now trading premium to the component by +8.61. Traders are thinking demand is going to be very strong and it is undoubtedly the export demand they are banking on ballooning up. If this ASF virus spreads in China, they may be right.

The six-day moving average carcass weight was up a bit at 208.52#. That is -1.74# year over year. Producers have done a great job getting current in their shipments and packers continue to lead the way. Packer hogs are now about -0.50# lighter than the non-packer hogs. Index hogs were also a bit lighter at 207.83#.

The summer futures are dipping today. Not enough so far to tempt me to add more - getting close, though.
