longs on but I did for awhile today. Got my 35 cent deposit but had to put my fishing gear aside to focus on the cattle market to get some hedges in place. I did have my hog guys lift 50% of their Aug hedges that we got on at the 76.90 area. Yesterday afternoon I told them we are knocking on the door of a $10 profit------only a fool would refuse a $10 profit. So after some argument, we through a bunch of orders @ 66.95 on the thought that the 10 dollar addiction was a qualifier for the bottom. I didn't bring up the thought that the hog market enjoys at least $1 of Overkill------I don't want them to let greed get a foothold. My main guy pocketed almost 40k and still has half of his Aug production hedged off of 73.70-74.25. He pays me 5k a year to manage his risk. This isn't the first sizable deposit for this year-----I think maybe I'm under charging him. Maybe a bonus is called for----on second thought, the year ain't over yet, I could still end up looking stupid.
