shows that packers have 45K more hogs scheduled than on this date last week. Perhaps more significant if the fact that they have 167K more scheduled than on this date last year. That is an increase of 7.44%!

Based on the last H&P report numbers, it would be expected that about 3.5% fewer would be scheduled. Hogs seem to be backed up at the barn doors just fighting to get out.

At this rate it seems reasonable to expect to see the 6-day moving average carcass weight continue to drop and the weight to fall back to something closer to last year's weight.
