Thanks for reminding me....I don't really miss the hogs ! I'm from the days when all the farms seemed to raise pigs, and they were raised outside. All the neighbors would call my brothers and me, when it was time to vaccinate and "make barrows". We rounded them all up and sorted off the pigs from the sows. We held them for the vet while he did his job. Some of the neighbors were well known for letting the pigs grow too large, which made the holding job exhausting. I kind of miss seeing pigs out in the pastures.
Anyway, I just started trading lean hogs and feeder cattle a couple of years ago, and figured the safest way to learn was to buy options and know how much i was risking. Sure wish i had been shorting futures when the feeder cattle market collapsed a few years ago. I did pretty well with my puts though. Hope you were in on that market !
