that this years cattle/hog spread failure would have soured you on spreading cattle & hogs. I had one guy that was a 1st timer to my annual June cattle/June hog spreading opportunity, tell me he didn't know if he would have the courage to play it next year.

I told him it has an 80/20 reliability factor. That means once every 10 years its a failure and we already have that behind us. All we have to worry about for the next 9 years, is the one year it does nothing but break even for a waste of time and anxiety. I can't tell him when that will be, could be in 2018 or wait until 2026. All we need to do is have our entry timing and spread parameters close to accurate and then paint drying patience.
