From the afternoon reports the model projects the Purchase Index will be down -0.85 and the component on yesterday's kill will ease between -0.70 and -1.00. The kill since 6/1/17 has been 37,878K. Using data from the last H&P report the model projects it should have been 38,247K a difference of -369K.

Yesterday the 6-day moving average carcass weight move up to 211.16#.

Packers did a better job selling the product yesterday with the carcass jumping +0.80 to 73.50 and bellies moving up +1.84. Last year on this date carcasses were quoted at 81.12.
