throwing money at hogs this morning and it was not just measly bits of change, either. It looks like the up-trend in the Purchase Index is alive and well and of course it drives the CME Lean Hog Index. This probably means that packers are short bought for the holiday demand surge. The price structure following the holiday demand surge is a very different story.
