The CME component on the kill for - - -

9/24/14 was up 0.67 to 107.41. The weakness of the VVVs now has them discounted to the CME Index component by 1.04.

The six-day moving average carcass weight moved up to 212.84# this morning. That is +7.75# yr/yr. I don't think this mild increase means much especially since the yr/yr weight is dropping. This is great weather for finishing hogs and appetite pleasing new crop corn is beginning to show up in hog rations. So far the evidence is not suggesting that producer have a bunch of heavies to liquidate rather hogs are being grown out to make up for a numbers shortage.

I tossed the VVV pig back onto the market for a little profit and am now in the chase to buy another at 106.10.

Have taken some profits on G/Z, K/J, and K/M spreads. Want to run to the bank ahead of tomorrow report.

Best wishes,
