Cattle/Hog spread is------

getting trashed but I know better than to let the paint drying process put me to sleep. I don't ever recall June cattle causing this much trouble keeping the ship afloat. It's usually a drop for the hogs. To have cattle rally and hogs drop at the same time just proves how crazy and disconnected these markets are. The unexpected is working overtime with double effort. I have been able to keep my head above water with a long April cattle and two days of scalping the long side of June. If the hogs take another big drop tomorrow-----my spread will have me backed into a corner-----I may be forced to abandon ship. It's been many years that I've had to abandon ship with a loss and never because of June going the wrong direction.

My error is believing this spread would never disconnect in this way with both sides doing the opposite of norm at the same time. I'm running out of defensive plans-----so Prepping the Lifeboat just in case I have to use it.
