I hope you had a nice visit to MO and found things there on an "Up Swing".
I have built quite a large short position in he hog futures but I have a long for every short except today I added two extra long VVVs. I think producers have pulled hogs forward enough to keep the index firm until we get through the expiry on Friday. At any rate it will NOT be a long term trade.
I have found the one-week T-Bond options to be friendly to me this year. I just sold a 165 call that expires on Friday. It may go ITM and if it does and I take delivery, then I will sell a 165 put as a covered put trade. I make a solid effort to try to figure out what the front month hog futures will do. In the bonds, the only thing I know is that today will end, TIME WILL PASS. So I take a page out of a truck insurance business strategy and sell an asset that decays away with the passage of time!
And it is working for me.
Best wishes,
