10/7/16 was down -0.39 to 52.85. The "Gap" is now closed to -2.46 wwit the VVVs at a discount to the component.
The six-day moving average carcass weight moved up to 211.18# That is -0.31# yr/yr. Both packer and non-packer hogs were nearly a half pound heavier. Packer sold hogs were quite a bit lighter. Packers may be hurrying to get rid of their surplus hogs. Index hogs were also heavier at 209.74#. Producers of index hogs seem to be doing a fairly good job staying current in their shipments.
Scalping the VVVs technically is helping pay the rent today.
