The final Purchase Index for - - -

9/6/16 was UP +$0.01 which is really not much change except it might represent a change from the long down-trend we have been on. The model projects that the component on the CME Index on yesterday's kill will be in the range of +0.10 to -0.20.

Packers purchased 81.0% of the moving average daily purchases. The strength of the VVVs today suggests that Smithfield's Monmouth, Illinois plant is not going to be down very long from the fire.

I went home last night with one lone short VVV straggler still hanging on and had to dump it in a hurry this morning. This was one of the few times that I have had a directional bias that worked for me. The spreads have been quite active so far this week.

Best wishes,

PS: It was the late night getting the watermelon syrup started cooking that was the problem, Dewey. Couldn't get my old bones up and going this morning.
