8/26/16 was down -$0.48 and the model projects that the component on the 8/26/16 kill will drop between -0.20 and -0.50. Even though packers were bidding lower, they made a very solid purchase at 124.4% of the moving average daily purchases.

The last 6-day moving average carcass weight was up about a quarter of a pound. This is not a good time for hogs to start coming to market heavier. . In my view, producers need to stay very current in their shipments. Of course packers have to sell the product.
