8/26/14 killdropped 1.59 to 99.52. The VVVs are only discounted to the index by 3.62. It would only have been 2.5 at the VVVs high of the day. Packers are still on a bid-cutting rampage that is just not letting up.

The 6-day moving average carcass weight came in at 212.28# which was down a little and it was all packer hogs that got lighter. Packers are continuing to hurry their hogs to market before pork drops in price. At one point the carcass weights were running nearly 11# yr/yr. They are now down to 8.66# yr/yr. This probably indicated that producers are selling as rapidly as packers will take the hogs.
