The CME component on the kill for - - -

2/26/16 was up +0.09 to 66.80. That fit perfectly into the projection from my Hog Pricing Model. With the JJJs showing some weakness the premium of the JJJs over the component is now cut to 3.15. That might be reasonable if we get the decline in kill that is in line with the last H&P report.

The six-day moving average carcass weight came in this morning was 213.45#. That is -1.39# year/year. Index hogs are at 212.70#. It continues to appear that producers of index hogs are more current than other producers and it is possible that producers of index hogs are going to have fewer hogs to market.

The fundamentals combined into the Hog Pricing Model have enabled me to make a few profitable scalping trades today.
