The 6-day moving average carcass weight - - -

eased to 213.36#. That is +9.82# yr/yr. Most of the decline was the result of packer hogs getting lighter. I have been suspecting that packers were (1) running their hogs to market quite rapidly before the price drops since they can buy hogs cheaper later and (2) thinking that packers may have suffered greater PED virus piglet losses than non-packers.

It is interesting to note that the year-over-year weight differential has now dropped below 10.0#. This may be indicating that producers are selling enough hogs to be getting more current in their shipments.

Still long QQQs. I had overlooked the fact that I had a working order to sell a QQQ at 114.775 so I have one less than I had. I now have an order working to buy it back on the lease dip.

Best wishes,
