1/14/15 was up 0.18 to 55.51 giving us a "Gap"of 6.19. The Index seems to be in an up-trend with this being the fifth consecutive "UP" day. The 6-day moving average carcass weight firmed to 215.79#. That is -1.10# yr/yr. I have been expecting the moving average carcass weight to decline mildly considering the fact that producers may have had a difficult keeping the flow of hogs out of their barns over the holidays.

We may have a few extra hogs that need to come to market in the near term.
