is my expectations were expecting suckers. The market has a way of making us cheat ourselves out getting a big piece of the cake. I told myself to be patient but the Prime Directive wanted nothing to do with it after yesterdays trickery. I've learned, that over the long haul, the scraps thrown my way, add up substantially. So I'm happy with scraps and suckers but every now and then, I'm lucky enough to land a Big One.

The Feeder Cattle have sure been nice to me this year but none of it was planned. They were all a timing coincidence of making the correct choice at the right time. If I had planned them, I would have lost my rear. I would not have even been trading feeders if I didn't have a handful of producers I'm working with. I've always told my RM clients that I won't rec them doing something I wouldn't trade myself. I don't always trade the same markets they are in but I do make the effort at certain times to put my money where my mouth is and take on the same risk I'm advising them to take. That sure paid dividends with the feeders this year.

I wish I could say the same for the corn market the last 3 months, now that's a frustrating market. I've been sitting on a few of my own long March/short May corn spreads that have me wondering if I will ever get the chance to cover the short side and then receive additional rally to retest the 4.00-4.15 resistance for front month corn. They feel very good with my rec's in getting 50-70% of their production priced @ the 4.05-4.10 cash price. They feel good with the 4.35 hedges on 30-40% that they put 70 cents a bu. futures profit in their bank account. We have re-owned 50% of those sold bu back in mid Nov with long March contracts between 3.65-3.69. We are on our 3rd round of short May spreads in case there is additional drop to put in new weekly chart lows below 3.46. To say the least, I'm having trouble keeping the troops with a positive mindset and it's beginning wear on me also. I have to give a pep talk to 40-50 frustrated producers every week and I'm running out of pep.
